Cosmological measurements are playing a central role in our understanding of the physics related to dark sectors, in particular related to dark matter. Currently there are some noticeable tensions appearing in the data when it is interpreted using LCDM. In this talk I will discuss how interactions between dark sector particles can lead to changes in cosmological observables, with particular focus on the CMB and on the matter power spectrum, and how these interactions can significantly reduce the current cosmological tensions.
