In this talk, we will explore novel approaches for detecting ultralight dark matter candidates. Rydberg atoms serve as single photon detectors, while electro-optical materials serve as sensors for coherent electric fields. Using precision experiments based on these systems, we can directly probe potential electromagnetic interactions of ultralight dark matter here on Earth.
