Event Topic
Black holes formed in the early universe can make up all or part of dark matter. I will review some scenarios for their formation, especially those that arise from common models of physics beyond the standard model. For example, the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) already has all the ingredients for the formation of primordial black holes (PBH) with the right masses (Planck mass cubed divided by the SUSY breaking scale squared) to explain dark matter. I will also discuss the astrophysics of PBH dark matter and the ongoing search for PBH dark matter.
